Weegy: On one hand, most of who have smart phones, take advantage of using the internet "on the go". Basically you can check your email even if you are not able to access a laptop or computer when you are not in distance of one. [ Also note, the 3G or 4G network is available which means you don't always need a wi-fi signal. So it is simply a matter of convenience for many (and entertainment for others).
On the other hand, if you do not have a smart phone, then it is likely that you would be focused on living life apart from electronics. For those that don't use smart phones, I am sure that they do not feel as big of a need because they can put their attention on things that are not related to technology. This means, they are not concerned about Facebook, Twitter, social media, or checking their email frequently.
My point is, there are pros and cons. Each person has an opportunity to choose. Even if you don't have a smart phone, you can still function just fine. Our society has indeed changed to accomodate technology and its use, but it isn't the way of life.
