Question and answer
Q: Blepharoplasty is sometimes considered more of a cosmetic procedure as opposed to a medically necessary procedure. In what circumstances do you feel insurance companies should cover this procedure?
A: Blepharoplasty is generally considered a cosmetic procedure and most insurance companies will not pay for the procedure. [ However, if your eyelids are encroaching upon your field of vision, the procedure may be covered as "medically necessary" surgery. The doctor then would be happy to contact your insurance carrier to determine if they cover the procedure. I hope this helps! Thanks and have a
great day! [smile] ]
