User: what is the cpt code not the icd-9 code

Weegy: CPT is an acronym for Current Procedural Terminology. CPT codes are published by the American Medical Association, and the fourth edition is the most current. [ The purpose of the coding system is to provide uniform language that accurately describes medical, surgical, and diagnostic services. A CPT code is a five digit numeric code that is used to describe medical, surgical, radiology, laboratory, anesthesiology, and evaluation/management services of physicians, hospitals, and other health care providers. There are approximately 7,800 CPT codes ranging from 00100 through 99499. Two digit modifiers may be appended when appropriate to clarify or modify the description of the procedure. It is published in two versions - the first is the most common, CPT Physician's Current Procedural Terminology. A second publication is also available - the CPT Physician's Current Procedural Terminology Specially Annotated for Hospitals. The Hospital version contains all the information in the original version with the addition of special Medicare guidelines and notations for identifying criteria applicable to outpatient hospital billing. The rules for assigning the appropriate code are complex, and so we advise individuals who are determining the appropriate codes receive the proper training and credentials. This would include any office or clinic personnel who play a significant role in coding. What is an ICD-9 Code? ]

Weegy: Abstract Rationale and Objectives. Atelectasis, the collapse of small airways, is a significant clinical problem. [ We use hyperpolarized (HP) 3He magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), or HP 3He MRI, to describe atelectasis in the normal Yorkshire pig, the pig with atelectasis, and the pig with re-expansion of atelectasis. We compare HP 3He MRI findings with depictions of atelectasis by proton MRI. Materials and Methods. During end-expiration in the anesthetized and paralyzed Yorkshire pig (n = 6), HP 3He gas produced by the optical pumping spin-exchange method, was delivered via an endotracheal tube. For two separate groups, atelectasis was either induced by Fogarty-catheter occlusion balloon inflation (n = 3), or lateral chest wall administration of sodium hydroxide (NaOH) (n = 3). MRI was performed at time zero, at 5, 9, 13, 15, and 19 minutes after atelectasis production, 30 minutes after balloon deflation, and 10 and 30 minutes after recruitment of atelectatic areas with increased tidal volumes and added positive end-expiratory pressure. High-resolution, cross-sectional MR images were procured, and comparison was made with the traditional proton MRI. Results. Atelectatic areas by HP 3He MRI were easily distinguishable in both subject groups, and correlated with those located by proton MR. HP 3He MR images showed absence of ventilation, whereas proton MR images depicted dense, white areas. Re-expansion of atelectasis was well delineated by HP 3He MRI. Conclusion. HP 3He MRI may overcome many of the shortcomings of other well-established radiographic methods. HP 3He MRI is a novel, informative method for describing atelectasis and its re-expansion. ] (More)

No prior studies. There is some soft tissue swelling adjacent to the distal fibula. Plantar caliectasis spurring is seen. There are radiopaque densities seen along the plantar aspect of the foot, including hindfoot and midfoot. Question if there is overlying bandage with radiopaque densities or that could relate to soft tissue calcifications. Suggest clinical correlation. No obvious acute fracture or dislocation is seen. Suggest clinical correlation regarding further assessment of the foot with left foot radiographs Weegy: Can you kindly elaborate your question please. (More)
