Question and answer
The compound probability of two events E and F is 1/8; the probability of E is 1/2 and of F is 1/3. E and F are independent. is it True ? or False ?
False. If they were independent, then the compound probability of E and F would be 1/2 * 1/3 = 1/6, not 1/8. Therefore, something else is happening that relates the two together.
