explain how to apply the principles and methods of a person- centred approach to each of the different stages of the process of risk-assessment
When you?re an employer, great responsibility is placed on your hands to ensure the health and safety of your employees. Running a business or organization is not just about getting the right people. [ [ [ [ Your responsibilities don?t end there because you still need to conduct a risk assessment to find out the potential harms or dangers that the workplace involves. This is a requirement of
the law and failure to comply can lead to closure of the business or possible lawsuits in the future when your employees encounter health and safety problems. In any kind of business, there will always be risks. Not all risks are harmful but there are once that can really cause great harm when not acted upon immediately. With the right preventive measures, you can control such risks or stop them from ever happening. Always bear in mind that your business will not run without your precious workforce, so you need to keep them safe and healthy at all times. It would be impossible to eliminate all the risks and the law doesn?t expect employers to address them all. Just pick the ones that can case potential harm and minimize other risks that you can identify. The Options The employer can conduct the risk assessment or you can rely on the services of a professional. The risk assessment is simply an evaluation of the workplace and the type of business you?re running. After risks are identified, you will now come up with ways to control them to prevent accidents, ill health, damaged machinery, and increased insurance costs. You can follow these steps in order to conduct the evaluation. The first thing you have to do is identify potential hazards. Identify the persons that can be harmed and the accident can happen. Calculate the involved risks and determine the precautionary measures to undertake. All findings should be recorded and proper implementation should follow. Updates are often necessary as the business expands, so from time to time, review is necessary. You don?t have to complicate matters. For instance, as employer you are aware that some of your employees have heavy loads to carry which can lead to possible back injuries. ] ] ] ]

explain how to apply the principles and methods of person centred approach different stages of risk assessment
Weegy: Traditional methods of risk assessment are full of charts and scoring systems, but the person, their objectives, [ dreams and life seem to get lost somewhere in the pages of tick boxes and statistics. A person centred approach seeks to focus on people's rights to have the lifestyle that they chose, including the right to make 'bad' decisions. The approach described here uses person centred thinking tools, to help people and those who care about them most think in a positive and productive way about how to ensure that they can achieve the changes they want to see while keeping the issue of risk in its place. ] (More)

User: explain how legislation national and local policies and guidence provide a framework for decision making which can support an individual to have control over their own lives Weegy: EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Introduction The need for a review of approaches to risk assessment was identified as part of the 21 st Century Review of Social Work (2006a) (Changing Lives). [ It suggested that the social work profession was lacking in confidence, under-utilised its workers’ skills, had become increasingly risk averse, stifled autonomy and lacked appropriate support. One of the key areas for change identified in Changing Lives was the need to develop a new organisational culture and approach to risk management and risk assessment which promoted excellence. The Scottish Executive Education Department commissioned the Social Work Research Centre at the University of Stirling to undertake an international literature review on risk assessment across the three main areas of social work expertise: criminal justice, community care and child protection. The main objectives of the review were to examine: - the key differences in risk assessment approaches between the three categories of community care, criminal justice and child protection and what are the implications of such differences for a common language and understanding of risk assessment between and within the various professions; - how risk is defined, assessed and applied in practice – what actuarial tools for risk assessment are available to social work, which ones are used and why, and how are differing practices justified; - how information is shared between agencies and with users on risk assessment; - to what extent organisational culture and organisational learning impact on risk assessment and management techniques, processes and outcomes; ...
