the law and failure to comply can lead to closure of the business or possible lawsuits in the future when your employees encounter health and safety problems. In any kind of business, there will always be risks. Not all risks are harmful but there are once that can really cause great harm when not acted upon immediately. With the right preventive measures, you can control such risks or stop them from ever happening. Always bear in mind that your business will not run without your precious workforce, so you need to keep them safe and healthy at all times. It would be impossible to eliminate all the risks and the law doesn?t expect employers to address them all. Just pick the ones that can case potential harm and minimize other risks that you can identify. The Options The employer can conduct the risk assessment or you can rely on the services of a professional. The risk assessment is simply an evaluation of the workplace and the type of business you?re running. After risks are identified, you will now come up with ways to control them to prevent accidents, ill health, damaged machinery, and increased insurance costs. You can follow these steps in order to conduct the evaluation. The first thing you have to do is identify potential hazards. Identify the persons that can be harmed and the accident can happen. Calculate the involved risks and determine the precautionary measures to undertake. All findings should be recorded and proper implementation should follow. Updates are often necessary as the business expands, so from time to time, review is necessary. You don?t have to complicate matters. For instance, as employer you are aware that some of your employees have heavy loads to carry which can lead to possible back injuries. ] ] ] ]
