A friend approaches you for advice. She is debating about whether she should break up with her boyfriend of 5 years. What types of questions would you use as you talk with her to help her make a
decision based on critical thinking rather than emotion? Why are questions such a valuable aspect of critical thinking?
Critical thinking involves logical thinking and reasoning including skills such as comparison, classification, sequencing, cause/effect, patterning, webbing, analogies, deductive and inductive reasoning, forecasting, planning, hypothesizing, [ [ [ and critiquing. ] ] In my opinion such questions are valuable to the individual as they help to put things into perspective, and give valid
arguements for and against, which are ruled by the head and not the heart. ]
