Question and answer
Q: the glorious revolution took place in response to the...
A: Leisler's Rebellion was an uprising in late 17th century colonial New York, in which German American merchant and militia captain Jacob Leisler seized control of lower New York, and ruled it from 1689 to 1691. [ The uprising took place in the aftermath of Britain's Glorious Revolution and a revolt in the Dominion of New England (to which New York then belonged), and reflected colonial resentment
against the policies of the deposed King James II. Royal authority was restored in 1691 by British troops and a new royal governor sent by James' successor, William III. Leisler was arrested, tried and convicted of treason, and executed. The revolt left the colony bitterly split into two rival factions. ]
