**Weegy:** multiply through by 10 getting:
3x2+50x?70=0

When a =1/2 and b = -1/2,

a^2 + b = (1/2)^2 + (-1/2) = 1/4 - 1/2 = - 1/4

a^2 + b = (1/2)^2 + (-1/2) = 1/4 - 1/2 = - 1/4
