Question and answer
Q: What is racism? In what ways does racism affect diversity?
A: It seperates us from our neighbors. [ Instead of trying to better our lives or our nation we are spending more time fighting a constant battle with "that black group down the street." We become diverse and split ourselves apart, grouping together by our fellow races. We then create cities seperated by race, and prefer to stay in our own city with fellow people of our race. Our country becomes
divided, one race on one side and another on the otherside. Our country at this point could be called 2 seperate countries, and no one would care. ]

User: Are there existing social inequities based on race? Why or why not?

Weegy: Some people argue that there are. For instance, the fact that minorities are over-represented in prison cells compared to white people. [ Not in raw numbers per se, but proportionately. Some argue that it's because the white race is more protected, can afford better attorneys, are favored by judges, and that minorities are targeted in drug busts and gang membership arrests more often than whites. Others argue that minorities actually commit more crime and have higher levels of gang membership and deal more drugs than whites. ]
