Question and answer
how important is the schools vission, mission and goals in designing curriculum/
The curriculum is usually designed by the concerned State Board of Education, not by individual school(s). However, [ the school has a couple of roles : - provide feedback & inputs to the curriculum designing process - implement the curriculum in the most effective manner possible by supplying the best resources - both personnel & material. This is one of the reasons why, even with the same
curriculum, some schools produce better academic results, well-rounded learners, ... than others. - the relative focus of the school on extra-curricular activities leading to better all-round development of child's personality & skills. Opportunities provided towards the same. - the Electives that the school offers. This is not Strictly regulated or determined by the common curriculum & schools thus have greater freedom in the range offered, etc. Here, the vision/mission of school plays a greater role. ]
